International SEO guide for exporters: country pages, hreflang and the right terms
Overseas buyers search in their own language and with their own terms. The core steps of international SEO for manufacturers and exporters.
A German procurement specialist sourcing from Türkiye does not search for your Turkish product name but for their industry’s technical term. Translating your website is therefore not enough; it must be rebuilt around the target market’s search habits.
Start with term research
For each target country, research the product names, standard codes and material descriptions buyers use. The same product may be searched with different words in the UK, the US and the Gulf.
The right URL and hreflang structure
Use a separate, permanent address for each language and tell search engines which pages correspond with hreflang tags. This site sets that up automatically; incorrect hreflang shows the wrong language in the wrong country.
Give buyers the information they need
B2B buyers look for capacity, certificates, minimum order quantity, lead times and packaging. Pages that present this clearly rank better and bring more qualified enquiries.
Make trust signals visible
A factory film, production photos, quality certificates and reference countries answer the buyer’s biggest concern — reliability — and help AI assistants describe your company accurately.
Measure and expand
Start with two or three priority markets, track visibility and enquiries by country, then take the proven model to new markets.
